“In a crisis, we need to rapidly onboard and train a large number of people. RedSeed helps us ensure people are supported and we can verify they have been trained and understand the basic concepts.” — Sam Johnson, CEO & FOUNDER
In 2020, at the height of the Global Pandemic, the Student Volunteer Army was able to successfully mobilise their volunteer base to provide support such as its Grocery Delivery Service.
Over the past year, the SVA has also grown their offering to include Vaccination Clinic Helpers in the Canterbury region, who are responsible for ensuring people have quality information about the vaccine when they arrive at a vaccination site.
Having the ability to quickly onboard and upskill a growing database of volunteers, and to be able to verify that their volunteers have completed their training became a vital part of the puzzle for Sam and the SVA team.
“We have reduced the admin overhead significantly as a result of using RedSeed.”
Being able to quickly enrol trainees and report on completions at a glance with the RedSeed LMS, means that the SVA have been able to reduce the cost of onboarding volunteers.
They’ve done this by reducing the amount of admin time required to train volunteers and also increase the average speed-to-competency of new volunteers, arming them with the skills and knowledge they need to provide vital support services.
Volunteers now feel more confident in their role and the people they help have more assurance that volunteers understand how to respond to particular situations.
The RedSeed LMS has helped the SVA to scale, to rapidly train people, and to help build a volunteer workforce able to contribute to problems that matter.
